Gourmet kitchen?

This may be a photo of a gourmet kitchen.

I survived my first day at Scripps... and it was AWESOME. I can already tell that I'm really going to enjoy working here this summer.

For the first time in my life, I wasn't nervous about starting something new (although I did get lost on the way to work)- in fact, I have been eagerly awaiting today for several months.

Upon my arrival, I became acquainted with Scripps' incredible office, and met my supervisor and several of the editors here for HGTV- one of whom was actually a DJNF intern three years ago!

I've already started working on a project for one of HGTV's future online services, which will be my primary focus for the summer. As part of my internship, I am responsible for writing, editing and assisting with various parts of maintaining Scripps Networks websites.

My work has already proven to be challenging for me, because I don't have background knowledge in home design, but I'm excited to learn more about it. I hope that working with a topic outside of my comfort zone will help me become a more versatile writer, and I think that incorporating my writing style into home design will be fun.

On a side note, I've decided that the term "gourmet kitchen" is overused and meaningless. After asking several of my coworkers and doing some research online, I still have NO idea what classifies a kitchen as a "gourmet kitchen."
